Outback Steakhouse Online Employment Form

The Australian Outback is one of the harshest places on Earth. Luckily, when they decided to do a restaurant based on it, they kept the feel without bringing the danger. With great food and a fun atmosphere, this is the place to be. While it may have started small like every other company, it has grown to epic proportions.

Looking to jump on the train to success? It’s time to fill out an Outback Steakhouse application. There are plenty of locations to choose from and numerous opportunities waiting for you. Let’s find out where this company came from, how you can apply, and what benefits to expect.

A History and Overview

This Australian-themed casual restaurant is actually American-based, but you wouldn’t know it because the authenticity is all there. It is based out of Tampa, Florida and has over 1,200 locations in 23 countries across the world. Whether you live in North or South America, Europe, Asia, or Australia itself, you can find an Outback Steakhouse.

The story begins in 1988 in Tampa when Bob Basham, Chris T. Sullivan, Trudy Cooper, and Tim Gannon. It was owned and operated by OSI Restaurant Partners and was eventually purchased by Bloomin’ Brands. In 1996, restaurants began opening in Canada, but it was short-lived venture.

In 2009 they were forced to close all nine locations there in response to poor economic conditions. Later though, new locations opened in Niagara Falls and in Edmonton which are still operating. The company spread its influence to South Korea in 1997 by organizing an agreement with Aussie Chung Inc.outback-steakhouse-exterior

Currently there are just over 100 locations in South Korea. Outback Steakhouse has a menu that is filled with “full flavor” foods. The steak itself for example is seasoned with a seventeen piece blend. Food is fried in beef tallow and in most cases real butter and heavy cream are used in the recipes.

The burgers on the menu are ground from beef tenderloin. Other specific items on the menu are based on the region. For example, Crawfish is on the menu in South American locations, along with sweet potatoes. Locations in the east have Maine Lobster tails, and western locations enjoy Alaskan King Crab legs and cakes.

The same is true of the bar options. Foster’s Lager is one example of a popular Australian beer served at these locations. Other beers from the country include Toohey’s New, Boag’s, and Coopers Premium Lager. Many of the menu items are grilled, but the steaks themselves are actually made on a griddle using butter as the medium for heat transfer.

One major iconic dish is the Bloomin’ Onion, which is a signature appetizer that I can personally recommend. It is a one-pound onion that is cut to “bloom” open before it is deep-fried and served with a mayonnaise-horseradish sauce.

Direct Competitors

While you won’t find many Australian-themed restaurants, that doesn’t mean you can diversify a little and apply to other places as well. For a similar approach to Italian cuisine, check out Olive Garden. Another great option for casual dining is Red Lobster, Before you leave though, I would also recommend Cracker Barrel, a southern style place.
