This is where the secondary chain, P.S. from Aeropostale comes in. This chain opened in 2009 and originally sold apparel at low prices for 7-12 year old customers. In 2011 though they expanded their selection to three, four, and five, six year old sized clothing.

In November 2013 the company brought on the Bethany Mota collection to all of their stores. This American video blogger provides clothing and accessories to the stores as part of her collection. In the fall of 2014 the company also added the Live Love Dream collection to their stores. This collection is focused around lounging and active wear for young girls.

There was also a secondary brand called Jimmy’Z that has a focus on surfing and skating clothing. Fourteen stores were branded with higher price points and an upscale focus. It wasn’t a successful endeavor though, and the Jimmy’Z locations closed in 2009.

People who donated jeans received a discount of up to 25% in the store on jeans for their charity. Over the course of the campaign, over 125,000 pairs of jeans were collected. The company itself also donated 10,000 jeans to the cause.

In 2010, after the earthquake in Haiti, the company matched every pair of donated jeans and sent them to Haiti. More recent promotions include one in April 2011 where they partnered with Black Eyed Peas to sell T-shirts and CDs.

The proceeds from this campaign were donated to the Peapod Foundation which “helps children worldwide through music.” In addition the company donated $100,000 to the organization.

As if all these charitable actions weren’t enough, the Aeropostale was named one of the top 100 companies to work for in 2013 by Fortune Magazine.
